Ambulance sirens will start feeding directly into car radios

How many times have you seen cars refusing to move out of an ambulance’s way even when they could? Maybe they were listening to loud music, completely impervious to the ambulance’s blaring sirens in the background? Sweden’s ambulances have devised an ingenious solution to make themselves heard while on the road.

Swedish ambulances are testing an emergency alert system in the city of Stockholm that bypasses loud music and sound-proofed car insulation to alert drivers of an approaching emergency vehicle.
