Tamina

Tamina is an Iranian short film that centers on the emotional world of a young girl navigating a quiet but deeply personal struggle. Set against a modest domestic backdrop, the film captures the subtle tensions of family life and the unspoken expectations placed on children. Through minimal dialogue and carefully composed visuals, the story unfolds in small yet meaningful moments that reveal Tamina’s inner thoughts and resilience.

The film explores themes of identity, belonging, and the silent strength often found in childhood. Tamina is portrayed as observant and sensitive, absorbing the complexities of the adult world around her while trying to protect her own sense of self. Everyday interactions—at home, in school, or within her neighborhood—carry symbolic weight, reflecting broader social and cultural realities.

Stylistically, the short film follows the tradition of Iranian minimalist cinema, relying on natural performances, intimate camerawork, and a restrained narrative pace. Rather than dramatic plot twists, it offers emotional depth through atmosphere and character study. In doing so, Tamina delivers a poignant and reflective portrait of youth, emphasizing empathy, quiet courage, and the power of small personal awakenings.
