Directed by Narges Abiar and adapted from Fattaneh Haj Seyed Javadi’s best-selling novel, the series explores the struggles of love across social boundaries in early 20th-century Iran. At the heart of the story is Mahbubeh, a young woman born into privilege who dares to follow her heart when she falls in love with Rahim, a poor but honorable carpenter. Her decision to marry beneath her social class sets off a chain of events filled with pain, regret, and self-discovery. Through Mahbubeh’s journey, Bamdad Khamar examines themes of freedom, pride, and the lasting consequences of one’s choices.
