Anja Kasi Divoone Nist

Anja Kasi Divoone Nist is a darkly humorous and thought-provoking comedy set within the walls of a psychiatric care institution. The film follows a group of residents whose days are shaped by routine, eccentric rituals and the absurdity of institutional life. Into this closed world arrives a new inhabitant, whose presence subtly disrupts the delicate social economy of the ward: friendships strain, alliances shift, secrets surface and unforeseen events begin to unfold. The film uses this micro-society of patients and staff as a mirror to reflect on wider themes of belonging, identity and sanity, asking where the boundary lies between what society labels “normal” and “mad.” Although the setting is enclosed and the characters appear quirky, the tone remains compassionate and human—emphasising that each resident has a story, a yearning and a voice. With its blend of restrained comedy and empathetic observation, the film invites viewers to reconsider their assumptions about mental health, isolation and the nature of community. “No One is Crazy There” deftly balances moments of awkward humour with quiet emotional resonance, offering a fresh, humane perspective on a space often hidden from view.
