Dinosaur Movie is a 2025 Iranian comedy feature directed by Masoud Atyabi, written by Amir Baradaran, and produced by Mohammad Shayesteh. Released during the Norouz holiday season on March 8, 2025, the film marks the fifth collaboration between Atyabi and actor Pejman Jamshidi, once again delivering crowd-pleasing entertainment. Starring Pejman Jamshidi as the eponymous “Dinosaur” (Reza) and Amir Jafari, the story follows individuals chasing quick gains through questionable schemes, with comedic twists centered on their misadventures. Supporting roles are filled by industry favorites like Yusef Teimoori, Sosan Parvar, Reza Naji, and Negar Forouzandeh, adding familiar charm to its lighthearted premise

At the box office, Dinosaur was a domestic hit—grossing over 1.14 trillion rials and ranking among the top ten highest-grossing Iranian films of 2025. However, critics were less enthusiastic, calling out the film’s formulaic humor, weak narrative cohesion, and reliance on repetitive jokes reminiscent of Atyabi’s earlier work. Audiences remain divided: some appreciated the predictable, easygoing laughs suitable for a holiday outing, while others criticized its superficiality and lack of innovation . Ultimately, “Dinosaur” underscores the tension in Iranian cinema between commercial success and artistic depth, offering seasonal fun at the cost of narrative substance.
