Haft Bahar Narenj Film

Haft Bahar Narenj Film is Directed by Farshad Golsefidi in his debut feature, Haft Bahar-e Narenj is a poignant black-and-white melodrama centering on an elderly man, Shams (played by legendary actor Ali Nasirian), who cares for his ailing wife while grappling with suppressed memories and existential solitude. The film blends reality and dreamlike sequences, using minimalist storytelling and atmospheric sound design—like radio whispers and traditional instruments (kamancheh, setar)—to evoke emotional depth. Nasirian delivers a career-defining performance, anchoring the 83-minute narrative with quiet intensity. The plot, inspired partly by Nasirian’s own life, avoids overt drama, instead focusing on subtle gestures and symbolic motifs (e.g., a black cat representing the liminal space between life and death) . Despite production challenges, including funding shortages, Golsefidi prioritized artistic integrity over commercial appeal, crafting a “sincere and straightforward” film that resonated at the Fajr Film Festival. A meditative exploration of love, aging, and memory, Haft Bahar-e Narenj stands out as a lyrical tribute to human resilience.
