Bidad Iranian Movie

Bidad (Outcry) is a compelling Iranian drama directed and written by Soheil Beiraghi. The film follows Seti, a young woman who has a deep passion for music and singing and dreams of having her voice heard. However, restrictions on women performing publicly prevent her from pursuing her passion openly. Determined not to remain silent, Seti takes her music to the streets, transforming public spaces into her stage.

As her performances attract more attention, Seti gradually becomes a powerful symbol for a younger generation seeking freedom, self-expression, and change. Her growing popularity also brings increasing pressure and danger, forcing her to confront the consequences of challenging social expectations. Through Seti’s journey, Bidad explores artistic freedom, women’s rights, identity, courage, and the struggle to express oneself in a restrictive society.

The film offers an intimate portrait of contemporary Iran while using music as a form of resistance and communication. Sarvin Zabetian stars as Seti, alongside Amir Jadidi and Leili Rashidi. With its socially charged story and emotional performances, Bidad presents a thought-provoking examination of what happens when an individual refuses to allow fear or restrictions to silence her voice. The film premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize.
