Pir Pesar

Pir Pesar is a gripping 2025 Iranian drama directed by Oktay Baraheni, exploring the painful struggles within a deeply dysfunctional family. The film centers on Gholam Bastani, a proud yet destructive father portrayed by Hasan Pourshirazi, whose addiction to alcohol and drugs has torn his family apart. Despite the pleas of his two sons, Ali (Hamed Behdad) and Reza, born from different mothers, Gholam stubbornly refuses to sell their deteriorating family home — a house that has become a prison of bitterness and regret. Their fragile peace begins to unravel when Rana (Leila Hatami), a mysterious young woman, moves into the house as a tenant. Her arrival stirs old wounds and hidden desires, leading the family toward an explosive confrontation filled with pain, betrayal, and revelation. Through haunting cinematography and raw performances, Pire Pesar paints a powerful picture of decay — not just of a building, but of love, dignity, and legacy. The movie boldly portrays themes of power, control, addiction, and the emotional scars passed down through generations. Baraheni’s storytelling captures the dark heart of family conflict, making The Old Bachelor one of Iran’s most intense and unforgettable dramas of 2025.
