Rafie

Rafie is a contemplative Iranian drama that explores the fragile boundaries between personal identity and societal expectation. The film follows Rafie, a middle-aged man living in a rapidly changing Tehran, who struggles to reconcile his past ideals with the realities of his present life. Once a passionate teacher, Rafie now finds himself disillusioned, burdened by economic hardship and emotional distance from his family.

When an unexpected encounter with a former student reignites his sense of purpose, Rafie begins a quiet journey of self-reflection. As he reconnects with people from his past, long-buried regrets and unresolved relationships resurface, forcing him to confront the choices that shaped his life. The film delicately portrays everyday moments—conversations, silences, and fleeting glances—capturing the emotional depth beneath ordinary experiences.

Through minimalist storytelling and subtle performances, Rafie paints a poignant portrait of resilience, dignity, and the search for meaning in a constrained environment. It reflects broader social tensions while remaining deeply personal, offering a meditation on hope, memory, and the possibility of change.
